Items

Items are things which can be picked up or consumed to affect gameplay. These effects can range from increasing health, increasing damage, or other effects.

Weapons

Weapons are items that players can pick up to do damage to enemies. Weapons have different accuracies and damage outputs. They can be purchased from the Shop for 12 coins, from chests, an upgraded version from Moth for 1 max health, or a downgraded version from Bell for 5 coins.

Coins

Coins can be used to purchase various items such as milk, weapons, and other items. Coins are dropped from enemies, given by the Beggar, or taken from a deal. The player can have a total of 99 coins at most. While playing as Shopkeep, having more coins makes you deal more damage, but getting hit makes you lose coins.

The probability an enemy drops a coin can be calculated via the following:

A character's Gold Multiplier can be found as follows:

Note: The Dealer's "I make enemies drop more coins" deal increases a character's Gold Multiplier by 3 for the run.

Healing Items

Healing items positively impact the player's total health: either by restoring a lost health point or increasing the player's max health. Any one of these items will fail the Strict Diet achievement.

Heart

Hearts restore 1 lost health point. All enemies have a 4% chance of dropping a heart.

Milk

Milk restores 2 lost health points. They can be purchased from the Shop for 7 coins on Floor 1, 9 coins on Floor 2, 11 coins on Floor 3 and 13 coins on Floor 4. For Mr. Bones, milk increases his damage multiplier by 0.25 points.

Pastries

Pastries increase the player's max health by 1. They can be purchased for 10 coins in the Barista's Shop.

Cake

Cakes increase the player's max health by 2. They can be obtained by defeating any boss without taking damage.

Fountain

Fountains restore 3 lost health points or increase the player's max health by one if and only if the player is at full health.

Damage Upgrades

Damage upgrades increase the damage that a player deals.

Damage Up Cake

Damage up cakes increase the player's damage multiplier by 0.50 points. They can be purchased from the Shop for 15 coins on Floor 1, 17 coins on Floor 2, 19 coins on Floor 3 and 21 coins on Floor 4.

Silk

Silk can be purchased from Moth for 2 max health points to upgrade a gun. This increases the gun's damage by 25%.

Miscellaneous

Gasoline

The gasoline can be purchased on Floor 2 for 25 coins. This allows you to fight Shed in Floor 3. Defeating Shed unlocks her as a playable character.

Halo

After completing the game for the first time, the Halo can be purchased on Floor 3 for 25 coins. This allows you to fight Catalyst on the first loop in the first room of Floor 4.

Books

Books can be dropped or purchased in certain locations. A guide to finding all books can be found here

Trivia

• The damage up cake is the most important item in the game... come on... you already know.
• Contrary to popular belief, the Halo does not give the Angel Shot a damage boost.
