Catalyst is an optional boss encounter, who is encountered on Loop 1 within Floor 4. To initiate this fight, players must first acquire the halo in the shop of Floor 3 for 25 coins. Catalyst is extremely fast, making her attacks exceptionally difficult to dodge. Arguably one of the toughest adversaries in the game, Catalyst was intentionally designed to present players with a challenge.

Lore

Catalyst and her sister, Yomi, lived in a small, cheap apartment, but spent time happily together. Her sister acted as a surrogate guardian to her for most of her life, after the passing of their parents. Her first appearence in the lore, is in Cookbook, where Mina is described as a cheerful and bright kid.

Even though she spent day and night studying to enter a good university, she was rejected from the institution she applied. In Abyss, is implied that Mina found the rejection letter that Yomi hidded, and even tried to commit suicide before being found by Yomi in the balcony. It's strongly suggested that Mina's heavy depression led to her entrance in the Rabbit Hole, even though it's not clearly confirmed.

	Slash	Catalyst slices her sword across the room and deals an explosion at the end.	Dodge through it, or jump over it and quick fall to the ground.
	Jump	Catalyst jumps into the air and slams into the ground, creating spikes on the floor.	Avoid the slam, and then jump over the spikes
	Hand	Catalyst creates 5 cross bombs across the screen that explode into big "X" shapes.	Stay in the middle between the gaps of the beams. The center is the safest spot.
	Gun	Catalyst shoots her rifle, firing a bullet that travels across the room and explodes into several bullets.	Duck the gunshot and the blast.
	Low Slash	Catalyst throws a grenade which explodes into several bullets.	Dodge through the attack just before it lands
	Up Slash	Catalyst pierces the sky with her sword, creating several "+" shaped bombs.	Right next to the middle is the safest spot, move there.

Catalyst attack pattern is arguably the hardest one in the game, and it's almost impossible to kill her without damage upgrades. Throughout the encounter, she presents players with a mere 2.4 seconds of vulnerability, where she momentarily stands still. Her attacks presents in a loop of:

Moko: Parry before they get on screen (i think that’s the timing, that or just as they get on screen)

Everyone Else: Once they jump you keep moving in a direction until they hit the ground then jump to avoid the spikes

• Hand

Moko: Stay in the middle (you can parry it… DON’T TRY)

Everyone Else: Stay in the middle or dodge through them

• Gun

Moko: Parry It

Everyone Else: I'm told you can duck under it but I've never done it. I just dodge away from the attack into the wall that the bullet thingy hits and that lets me dodge both the projectile and the shrapnel

• Low Slash

Moko: Stand in the middle and let the bomb fly over you (don't get bombed) and then jump over the shrapnel. You can parry it but I wouldn't recommend it

Everyone Else: Stand in the middle let the bomb fly over you (DON’T GET BOMBED) and then jump over the shrapnel.

Moko: Stand slightly off center to dodge the attack (you can parry it… DON’T TRY)

Everyone Else: Stand Slightly off center to dodge the attack

• Catalyst is one the only bosses to not have a no-hit achievement, due to how difficult is to beat her.
• The total amount of time that Catalyst is vulnerable is about the same time as the Foxy FNAF 2 jumpscare.
